During my learning for my history check i found this medieval prayer in a ancient book. I translate it from latin to german (to understand it) and realize the similarities between this and the prayers of the 40K Universe. It´s an prayer made during the crusades and I really like it (after i understand the deeper notion behind this words). I try to do my best translating it from german into english but i´m not a native speaker. So please don´t judge to hard ... (BTW: English starts after the Word "Translation" )

Femina substantionis castissima
Cessum ignominiaque est
Suus Amor Omnis Desertus
In Suus Memoria Persevererit
Sicut mundi illud dolor est

A Caelia Exaltissima
Signii Auri et Imperatoris Gloriae Hominis
In astram proficisimur
In obtenebram, ad infernialem gravissimum;
Omnis rei sanctorum honourque est.

Lucis umbraeque
Caeliae Infernalisque
Amoris Odiique

A being, filled with the greatest of essence
having fallen and disgraced
Love for all things is gone.
Her memory shall live on,
as a pain to this world.

From the highest of heave,
from the golden throne and the grace of the Emperor of Mankind
we shall travel through space;
Into darkness, into the deepest of the abyss
For all things of holiness and honour.

Of light and shadow,
